Made In Chelsea star JP Patterson opened up about his mental health battle on Good Morning Britain today. Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, he admitted that he has struggled with severe anxiety since he was as young as 13. During his teenage years, his symptoms became so intense that he contemplated suicide. “I went to a school doctor to talk about it but after I was diagnosed, it was like ‘Be on your way’,” he said. “There wasn’t any support.” JP added: “I remember looking at a piece of paper the doctor gave me and I ticked every symptom off it was that bad. But it was refreshing to see that list and know I was actually suffering with something. Although to be enduring all of those things at such a young age was scary.” The reality star appeared on the show as part of World Mental Health Day. He and an array of other celebrities are working on a new campaign together with the NHS and YMCA to help battle the stigma associated with mental health.
