Facebook Messenger is making it easier to send snaps to loved ones, just in time for Christmas. A new built-in ‘Messenger Camera’ has been designed to make it quicker to capture and share photos and videos. Users can capture snaps with one tap without having to dip out of a conversation. It will also be possible to customise pictures and video with new frames, stickers, masks and artwork – including a range of festive options. Users can capture snaps with one tap without having to dip out of a conversation HOW TO USE THE NEW MESSENGER CAMERA In Messenger, tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen. This will fire up a shutter button – which is currently themed for the impending Holidays – without the need to exit the conversation. A tap takes a photo while a long press records a video. Stickers, frames, masks, and effects can be added before sharing. The update is set to roll out globally to Messenger users in the coming days. ‘We’ve seen that the way people are messaging is becoming much more visual,’ said Facebook in a statement. ‘Men fact, over 2.5 billion emojis, photos, stickers and videos are sent every day on Messenger. ‘In some ways the camera is now replacing the keyboard’.
