Cannabis farm discovered at house in Kirkdale – WBNews

A cannabis farm was discovered at a house in Kirkdale . Residents reacted in shock after police raided the terraced property on Garnett Avenue. They described seeing Matrix vans and a forensic support vehicle in the street early this morning. At around 9.30am officers could be seen taking huge bags of plants out of the building. They were also carrying dismantled UV lights and heating systems – often used to grow cannabis – and loading them into police vans. Windows at the front of the house appeared to have been boarded up. As police emptied the property there was a strong smell of cannabis in the street. One woman said she was alerted to what was going on by the family dog barking at the commotion. © Provided by Trinity Mirror Plc She said she was shocked the farm had been discovered on what is usually a “lovely, quiet street where everyone knew each other”. She added: “I’m just here visiting but I’ve never heard of any trouble. It’s usually quiet and everyone seems to know each other. “I don’t think anyone had any idea.
