Angry parents with young children have launched a campaign to try and stop a convicted paedophile from returning to his home near two schools.
The parents have demanded that Lee Reynolds not be allowed to live in his old home which is just yards away from the schools.
Reynolds, 34, was jailed for three and a half years in 2015 after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a boy and hoarding child porn images.
But he is due to be released later this year and people in his old neighbourhood on the island of Anglesey, Wales, don’t want to see him again, the Daily Post reports.
Residents on the Maes y Dref estate in Holyhead are concerned that Reynolds may be planning to move back to the family home close to Holyhead High School and the soon-to-be-built Ysgol Cybi primary.
They have set up a Facebook group of around 300 gathered on Thursday to demand he not be allowed to return.
Dad-of-four Rhys Williams, who lives near to Reynolds’ parents, said: “Having been convicted of what he has done, there’s no way we’d want him back in Holyhead, let alone yards away from two schools.
“Although we have nothing against his family, who already live here, it would be an unacceptable danger for the children if he moved back.
“Clearly we would not be happy with him moving back, and his family have been told that.
“I can’t imagine hundreds of children walking past his window every morning, as would be the case.”
During his sentencing in 2015, the court heard that Reynolds possessed 769 of the most serious, ‘Category A’ images on his computer.
Matthew Curtis, of his defence team, admitted he ought to be ashamed of his conduct and acknowledged he needed help “due to other issues which needed addressing.”
Mr Williams has already written to the island’s MP, Mr Albert Owen, who confirmed he would hold discussions with North Wales Police to discuss local concerns.
North Wales Police referred all enquiries to the probation service, while Anglesey council had no comment.
Mr Reynolds’ family were approached by the Daily Post but declined to comment.
