After appearing on Weatherfield Radio to talk about her seven years in remission, the mother-of-two revealed that she underwent a mammogram a few weeks ago and was given the all-clear.
Seemingly on cloud nine after being praised by her family and friends following her candid chat about her battle with the disease, Sally’s world is then turned upside down following an unexpected phone call from Weatherfield General.
Asked when she had her last mammogram, the businesswoman reiterated that she was checked out just a few weeks ago and was told that her results were normal.

But Sally was dealt a serious blow when the hospital told her that they had made a mistake with her results.
“I don’t understand,” Sally retorted. “Are you telling me that my cancer has come back?”
The Weatherfield resident’s eyes then fill with tears before the credits rolled.
Despite Sally’s heartbreak, many viewers instantly took to Twitter to slam the storyline, with some labelling it “far-fetched”.

However, there were those who speculated that Sally had become the victim of a sick prank call from somebody who had listened to her radio interview.
“Sally’s illness has not returned. She’s being trolled by some sick idiot,” claimed one watcher.
